Baby
Care
One thing you must realize is that babies are very fragile and sensitive to their new surroundings. Taking good care of your baby is very important and will promote a healthy upbringing. It doesn't take a professional to care for a baby properly so don't be scared that you will hurt your baby, just be gentle and you should be fine.
One thing to be aware of is the anterior fontanel, which is also known as the soft spot on a baby's head. This will go away in time, but it is important to be careful of this spot so the brain does not get damaged. As well as watching for that you should remember that you should always hold the baby's head since their neck muscles aren't strong enough for them to support their neck on their own.
When putting your little one to sleep you should place them on their back to prevent suffocation and make sure blankets are not covering their face. Infants are more susceptible to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) while on their stomach too. Another thing to keep in mind is that just because you are warm, it does not mean your baby is. You must always make sure your baby's feet are covered. When going outside you want them to be fully covered and put a hat on their head to keep in heat.
Once your baby starts crawling around you want to make sure all dangerous objects in your house are put away and protected from your baby. Babies like to put things in their mouths so small objects left lying around pose as potential choking hazards. Following these steps will put you on the right track to raising a healthy, unharmed baby. Things will happen out of your control though so make sure you have the number to your baby's doctor handy.
