Cradles
Baby cradles typically come in wood or iron and are smaller than cribs. These are great for infants because they don't need a large crib to sleep in yet and most of them are designed to rock so you can gently lull your baby asleep. They can be fairly inexpensive however there are many expensive models on the market.
When deciding which baby cradle is right for your baby make sure the bars aren't spaced more than 2 3/8 inches apart to prevent your baby's head from becoming trapped. Make sure the construction is sturdy because you don't want to be rocking your baby to sleep and have it fall apart on you. Many cradles also are lockable so they don't have to rock all the time, this way if your baby moves or rolls while sleeping the cradle will stay still.
