Baby
Monitors
As much as you would like to stay with your baby at all times it just isn't possible. There's going to be a time when you need to use the bathroom, prepare dinner, etc. and are going to have to put your child down. If you need to leave your child alone from time to time as all parents do, then you need a baby monitor. This is a sure fire way to help ensure the safety of your child while being left alone.
You have many options to choose from when it comes to baby monitors and most are relatively inexpensive. They can range from 49MHz to 2.4 GHz. What does this mean? Basically, the higher the frequency of the baby monitor, the less chance of interference coming through the receiver end of the monitor. This also means that you can go further with the baby monitor if there's a higher frequency. You may still receive some interference however due to many household appliances such as portable telephones.
After you decide upon the range of the baby monitor you need you still have a few more options to choose from. You can buy the basic baby monitor that is a simple speaker on one side with a microphone in the baby's room. There are also other's with higher levels of monitoring such as baby monitors that distinguish the difference between a baby's sigh or cry and light up on the receiver end to let you know if you can't hear the difference. If this isn't enough, you may even get some with even more security such as a pad that goes under the baby's mattress which sound an alarm if your child has not moved after a selected period of time.
