 Baby Oil

Baby oil is a very common item to parents everywhere. It's a great product for keeping a baby's skin moisturized as it creates a barrier over the skin keeping moisture in. For children's skin that is extra dry it is best to give them a bath and then apply it to damp skin to retain moisture. Aside from just moisturizing the skin, baby oil is good for massaging your child. Studies show that babies who are massaged for at least 15 minutes a day may have an easier time falling asleep, become more alert, and it may even promote healthier weight gain.

As with many other products, it is best to keep baby oil in a place your child cannot reach. Also, it is wise to get baby oil with a childproof cap just in case. If your child drinks the baby oil or breathes it in it could be harmful or fatal. Hydrocarbons in the baby oil could coat the lungs with oil making it difficult for your child to breathe. If this occurs, it is possible that your child could get chemical pneumonia as well.
