Baby
Safety Gates
Once your child starts to crawl it would be a good time to get some baby safety gates. Now that your child is mobile, it is going to be harder to keep up with them. They are going to try and get into and onto everything. Baby safety gates come in all different sizes and are usually wooden, metal, or plastic. Whatever your need, you should be able to find a safety gate for it. Lots of manufacturers offer custom gates to suit each individuals needs.
Baby safety gates aren't just for blocking access through doorways or stairs. You can get custom safety gates to surround fireplaces, which will prevent your child from getting to close to the fire or from banging their head on the hearth. Wood-burning stoves are another thing to consider blocking off from your child as well as barbecues at outdoor get-togethers.
Don't forget to consider yourself when purchasing a baby safety gate. If you put one in a doorway of somewhere you frequently travel such as a stairway or your office, you may want a safety gate with a swinging door so you can get through it quickly and easily without having to be a hurdling track star.
Aside from providing easy access you must make sure the baby safety gate is nice and sturdy so the child cannot rip it down easily, as this would defeat the purpose of having the gate in the first place. Another feature to consider is the spacing of the holes or the slats in the safety gate. You do not want your child getting any limbs stuck in the safety gate as this could result in injury.
